A french investigative journalist-Guillaume Perrier, in an investigative piece dubbed; Football in Ghana : an off-limits investigation, has revealed how the Ghana police and those in authority have been lackadaisical in the murder of Ahmed Suale.
Ahmed Suale, an investigative journalist with Tiger Eye was murdered on the 16th of January 2019 around his Madina residence. The journalist was shot twice by two unknown men , one in the chest and one in the neck. The journalist died on the spot.
Its been a year since his gruesome murder and there have not been any arrest.
Remembering the late Ahmed, French Journalist Guillaume Perrier has his desire to get answers from the police, the Attorney general and those involve in prosecuting and investigating the case have been suicidal.
” The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, which is in charge of the case, gives little information. All our repeated requests to the police spokesperson and the CID spokesperson, our demands for information at the Madina and Kotobabi police stations, as well as our requests to the president’s office and the ministry of justice have gone unanswered. All doors remain closed ” he wrote.
The journalist further revealed how the Ghana police, who are equipped financially and logistically by the state ,could not have a sketch description of the perpetrators of this heinous crime until it took Anas Aremeyaw Anas and others to investigate and come out with a sketch description of the murderers.
Guillaume Perrier in his investigative piece, also revealed how one of the eye witness confided in him that , a police officer investigating the case had told him to keep quiet about what he saw.
