Cameroon international and Dutch side Ajax goalkeeper, Andre Onana has offered words of encouragement ,gloves and signed jersey to Arhin Aboagye,an inmate of the Nsawam prison after seeing his story.
TV3 award winning female sports journalist, Juliet Bawuah in a story dubbed football behind bars, revealed the relationship between sports and reformation in Ghana prisons, her series also highlighted some of the tremendous talents wasting away in prisons due to a past crime.
Arhin Aboagye, who is in the Nsawam prison for breaking the law, was identified and interview for his phenomenal talent in saving spot kicks.
Arhin, a goalkeeper , disclosed his number one idol is Andrea Onana of Cameroon. According to the Ghanaian, he is drawn to the 23year old Ajax shot-stopper because of his professionalism and attitude towards his profession.
Andrea Onana, after seeing the video on micro-blogging site Twitter, offered to share some words of encouragement and other souvenirs to the gentleman..
“Life is not easy for most people. Sometimes you can take shortcuts, but only effort and humility will bring you up to the right way. Everybody can make mistakes but the most important thing is to change and have a second chance to show that we can all be better people. Arhin, keep up the great work.
