Philanthropist and billionaire Bill Gates has expressed his displeasure at the US decision to suspend funding the world health organizations(WHO) after it was described as China-centric by the President of the United States of America.

President Donald J Trump in a press briefing yesterday revealed the he has decided to withhold the USA’s contribution to the humanitarian organization.

According to president, the organization mislead his administration of the severity of the coronavirus. Though Trump administration had earlier cut down the budget America contributes to the Organization, America is still the largest contributor of the organization.

His decision came across as strange especially when Trump earlier this year, congratulated China as a transparent country and subsequently thank them for their efforts and good work.

Founder of Microsoft, Bill Gate also shared his thoughts on the USA decision to withdraw from funding the organization.

He called the decision as a dangerous one , stating that, the work of the organization has reduced the spread of the virus.

“Halting funding for the World Health Organization during a world health crisis is as dangerous as it sounds. Their work is slowing the spread of COVID-19 and if that work is stopped no other organization can replace them. The world needs @WHO now more than ever.”

Dr. Patrice Harris, President of the American Medical Association, calls Trumps intentions to cut funding to the WHO as dangerous. Her sentiments aren’t different from that of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) which says the WHO is a great partner.
