Ghanaians on social media platforms, especially micro-blogging site Twitter, have blasted Member of parliament for Tema West constituency and deputy minister for Trade and Industry, Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah over his decision to visit some of the registration centers in his constituency after he had been tested positive for Coronavirus, the dreaded contagion disease.
Yesterday during a radio interview on Asempa Fm, the deputy minister admitted that he visited the registration centers after he had tested positive for the deadly virus. According to him, he observed the necessary precautionary measures in order not to infected anyone with it.
“I decided to see how some of the centres were just operating. So, I stepped out into town a bit. It didn’t mean I couldn’t go out. My test results had shown I was positive a week ago and after one week, my doctors said I could step out,” he told Asempa FM.
Though he defended his decision by saying he wore his nose mask and stayed far from his constituents , Ghanaians are asking the minister to resign and forfeit his position as the deputy minister for Trade and Industry.
