Many Ghanaians especially those in the police service have begun to question the intention of the Inspector General of Police ,Mr James Oppong-Boanuh when he said on live radio that the November increase in police salaries were as a result of salary adjustment and not to influence their voting decision during the election.

After receiving an increase in their November salaries, many police officers were of the notion that this increment had come to stay and were expecting same in their December salary but to the utmost surprise, they were credited a lesser amount.

This was after the IGP was heard on Peace Fm prior to the election that the police administration had since January, negotiated for salary adjustment for its officers.

According to the IGP, the increase in the November salaries was not because of the election or was not intended to influence who they voted for in the election.

After receiving their December salaries, some police officers we spoke on anonymity believe the increase in salaries were meant to influence their voting pattern. Others however think otherwise.
