Rufftown record artist, Ebony Reigns, whose untimely demise occurred on the 8th of February, 2018 at the Bechem Government hospital will become the first artist to be name VGMA artist of the year for 3 consecutive years by default if the coronavirus persist.

In 2018 few months after her painful exit, the “Poison” and “Kupe” hitmaker was voted the artist of the year beating fellow strong nominees like Joe Mettle, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and Sarkodie.

Ebony went ahead to retain the crown in 2019 a year after her death when the crown which was rumored to be have won by Stonebwoy or Shatta Wale never got into their hands because of a scuffle that took place at the event and left a sour taste in the mouths of the organizers and sponsors.

By their careless actions, Ebony was renamed the VGMA artist of the year for 2019.

Either by an act of faith and circumstances, Ebony from the looks of things, might still remain the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards artist of the year 2020.

This will be as a result of the organizer’s inability to host the program this year due to the outbreak of the dreadful coronavirus which has taken more than a 100,000 lives and cause the ill health of about 1.7million people around the world in real-time.

If this dreadful virus persist for the rest of the year, Ebony will be crown her third artist of the year crown posthumous.
