Ghanaian actress and movie producer, Lydia Forson has said that entertainers only become relevant to politicians during campaign seasons because politicians recognize the influence entertainers wield.

Ghana is in another campaign season and just like every four years, the political atmosphere has been charged with a platitude of musicians and movie makers , throwing their support behind one political party or the other.

Entertainers like Samini, Kalybos and David Osei have rallied behind the flag bearer and sitting President, Nana Akufo Addo while the likes of Mzbel and Tracy Boakye have held on to their unflinching love for the NDC.

However, Lydia Forson who has not publicly endorsed any political party , has called on her fellow industry players to demand more from the politicians after the election or risk going back to their default mode where they are not deemed qualified to be part of the decision making process.

She tweeted “Entertainers become relevant during campaign season because politicians recognize the influence we wield.
But after elections these same politicians don’t deem us qualified enough to be part of decision making.
We’re back to being “unserious” and just for fun
.”
