DSTV Ghana decision to increase it subscription charges yesterday has caused an uproar among it’s subscribers here in Ghana.

The Sub-Saharan African direct broadcast satellite service increased its packages by about 5% leaving most of its users fuming with dissatisfaction.

This increase comes after the satellite service increased it subscription about a month ago.

Responding to the numerous messages from its users, Multichoice through its Facebook handle revealed the increment was as a result of the incessant increase in taxes in Ghana.

They added that, in order to survive, they had to adjust their prices.

Thank you for reaching out to us. However, we have to adjust pricing to remain a sustainable business. Its important to note that chunk of your subscription is tax.
(All prices are inclusive of 12.5% VAT, NHIL 2.5% Getfund 2.5% , CST 5% & 1% Covid Levy). Customers in GH have to pay Approx. 27% of your monthly subscription as tax hence the adjustment. Thank you.
