Over the past few days , Ghanaians on social media have been regurgitating and convulsing over the fact that Ghana’s vice president, Dr Bawumia office and images appears on Google search engine immediately one googles “Who the biggest liar in Ghana is”.

Though some believe its a deliberate attempt by Google to defame the country’s vice president , others , especially those on the other fence of the political divide have concluded that the vice president is indeed a liar and his trait have finally been exposed to the world.

Upon research , we at celebritieshype.com have come to understand this wasn’t a deliberate attempt by Google to expose Bawumia for public ridicule or to authenticate Bawumia as a liar.

In 2018, Sundar Pichai, the CEO of google appeared in a House Judiciary Committee hearing in DC where he was asked questions as to why Donald Trump images appear anytime the word “IDIOT” was googled.

Pichai offered a long, general explanation of how Google search works:

Any time you type in a keyword, as Google we have gone out and crawled and stored copies of billions of [websites’] pages in our index. And we take the keyword and match it against their pages and rank them based on over 200 signals — things like relevance, freshness, popularity, how other people are using it. And based on that, at any given time, we try to rank and find the best search results for that query. And then we evaluate them with external raters, and they evaluate it to objective guidelines. And that’s how we make sure the process is working.

This is working at scale, and we don’t manually intervene on any particular search result,” Pichai added when he was question if there were some people working behind doing so deliberately.

So from the above exchanges and taking a cue from what happened with Donald Trump’s idiot saga, one can easily come to the conclusion that Google does not identify Bawumia as the biggest liar in Ghana. However, Bawumia images and office might appear because many Ghanaians have used the word ‘LIAR’ often with the name and images of Bawumia
