Ghanaian artiste Gyakie Acheampong has disclosed to Kwame Dadzie in an interview on Citi FM’s Celebrity Radar the reason she rendered an apology for a tweet she made a few days ago.
After the release of her remix with ‘Omah Lay’, some expressed their disappointment in the song, saying they had expected Omah Lay to perform better than he did.
In her response to them, she wrote that the song was not for everybody.
This irked some people who took to social media to troll her.
She apologised afterward but some have said that the apology may have been forced by her management. Because, to them, she said nothing wrong.
However, she said on Celebrity Radar that she apologised because there was backlash on social media was too much.
“I wasn’t forced by my management to apologise. I just had to do it. There was a lot of brouhaha on social media and that was the only way to bring everything down and after the apology everything became calm,” she said.
Gyakie is the daughter of 80’s highlife music legend Ernest ‘Owoahene’ Nana Acheampong but has come into her own as singer and songwriting, releasing her debut EP ‘Seed’ in August 2020.
