The 2019 edition of the Headies award was held on Saturday , October 19, 2019 at the Eko Convention centre inside the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos.
The award show which was hosted by Nancy Isime and Reminisce, saw Teni, Falz, Burna Boy coming out as big winners.
Other winners included Mayorkun,Clarence Peters, Yemi Alade, Seyi Shay etc.
The highlight of the event was when Rema snatched the Next Rated artist from the grips of the overwhelming favourite, Zlatan Ibile.

This all happened after Zlatan chose not to mind his business but to body shame Tacha after her disqualification from the Big Brother House.
On the night of 27th September, Tacha saw the sordid side of Big brother when she was disqualified from the reality show over a brawl she had with the eventual winner of the show, Mercy.
As the disqualification came as a shock to many of Tacha’s followers, known as the Titans, the 24-year rapper, decided to add more salt to injury by mocking the Port Harcourt indigene with a ridiculing song.
Even though Tacha was diplomatic about how she felt about it during her media rounds, her fans had none of that and were determined to punish the green-headed musician for his indiscretion.

So when Zlatan posted a link on Twitter soliciting for votes to win the Next rated artist at the 13th edition of the Headies, the titans saw it as golden opportunity to pay him back.
The Titans, in their masses, voted for anyone but Zlatan to win the award. Many also voted for “Dumebi” singer, Rema, showing proof of their voting.
There were also international voters who joined the queue to make sure Zlatan had nothing, not even a teaspoon as an award that night.
Some went as far as posting their votes under the “yeye boyfriend” crooner’s post aas comments
And has Karma had it, Zlatan talents were thrown in the bin, and an equally talented artist in the name of Rema won the prestigious award.
One would have thought Tacha would have reprimanded her Titans for their unforgiving spirit, but just like The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit, Tacha sang along with wittiness
