Herman Bortei- Doku, known popularly by his stage name Herman Suede is a 17yr-old musician who has been able to channel in his talents to meet the demands of the already saturated Ghanaian music industry.

As a student of Tema International School (TIS) Ghana, for the past year, Herman Suede has released seven songs so far: Be Mine, Wavii, Questions, Pretty Mama, Homies, African
Prince and My Everything.

He composed his first three songs when he was just 14 years old and released two songs Homies and Pretty Mama in 2018 at age 15. All seven songs we’re produced by D3MZ (Edem Cofie).

Herman released his first Extended Play entitled ‘Hi I’m Herman’ which debuted on the 4 of July and features the likes of RJZ and Asi along side collaborations with producers such as D3MZ, MikeMillsOnEm and Shadow Beatz.

This body of works is afro-infused with a touch of rap and r&b. It brings to life Herman’s versatility.

All the songs are composed in English with a dash of Pidgin English and local Ghanaian phrases in some songs.

Herman Suede is very comfortable with and continues to explore varying genres of music with a view to eventually homing in on one or two specific genres in the future.
He remains versatile with his compositions stretching across a vast array of genres.
He composes his music based on situations that go on around him mostly to do with typical lives of teenagers whether it be puppy love or life’s challenges.

According to Herman, he picks inspiration from Drake, Maleek Berry, Sarkodie, Manifest, King Promise, Stonebwoy, Wizkid, Davido, Mr Eazi, Burner Boy and Joey Badass.

Herman Suede looks forward to featuring and collaborating with some of the greats in the Ghanaian music industry .

Jason was a proud recipient at the Ashesi University SRC UBORA EXCELLENCE AWARDS in 2018 for his efforts in the music industry and being a role model to the youth

Herman has performed on many big stages including Ghana Party in the Park 2018 in London, Tidal Rave, The Glo Mega Music Show, Black Star Int. Film Festival, Pent Hall Week and Fresh ‘a’ Fair 2018 at the University of Ghana, Legon. His significant performances in Ghana in December 2018 included Manifestivities, Crusade 3, Mr Eazi’s Detty Rave, as well as Ghana Rocks.

He has also performed at a number of senior high schools including Ghana International School, SOS Herman Gmeiner College, Morning Star and Legacy Girls.
