Ghanaian actor and ‘failed’ NDC parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, John Dumelo has described information minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah’s assertion that the spike in Covid19 figures is as a result of Ghanaians recklessness during the Xmas celebrations as an insult to everyone.
The information minister is reported to have blamed the recent increase in Covid19 infection figures and death on the recklessness of Ghanaians during the Xmas. His assertions were further echoed by the President during his 22nd address to the Nation.
However, John Dumelo seems to disagree vehemently with their positions.
According to the NDC member , ” $150 is charged at the airport yet they claim foreigners brought the new variant ” . He said that the government had not contact traced anyone who tested positive for the virus.
He added that most people who tested positive for the virus in the last 4 weeks have not even been called to assist in contact tracing and that there was no data being collected.
He made his views heard on Twitter
“For him to say Ghanaians were reckless during the Xmas season hence the increase in Covid cases is an insult to everyone. $150 is charged at the airport yet they claim foreigners brought the new variant in. Were they isolated? Any contact tracing?”
