There’s this Akan proverbs which when translated into English goes like “The mouse says it has bitten but not chewed“. Sarkodie seems to be that proverbial mouse.

The BET award winner and father of two has come under intense backlash from the opposition NDC over his new song “Happy Day” in which he is heard endorsing the candidature of Nana Akufo Addo for the 2020 election.

In one of his lyrics, the rapper stated that Nana Akufo Addo had ended dumsor and has provided free education for the youth so he endorses him for the upcoming election.

The rapper has been challenged by personalities like the NDC’s Baba Sadiq over the misrepresentation in his lyrics.

According to Sadiq, NPP never solved dumsor as Sarkodie is trying to portray but instead it was Mahama who did. Some have also accused the rapper of being a hypocrite and an individually who has already been in the pockets of the NPP. This and many criticisms have forced the rapper to subtly try to share the praises he gave out to the president with the former president, John Dramani Mahama.

“Nana M3nfa bronya ho nre akoko oo lool !!when I say aban ( all parties ) Shouts to yourself x JM but if i feel like pointing out the negatives too you know how we do” he retweeted a post from the president.

The president post was however deleted and reposted.
