Freelance investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni has laid the blame for the current happenings in parliament at the doorsteps of the President of Ghana.

According to the award winning journalist, the current quagmire Ghana’s parliament is facing is because of President Akufo Addo’s reckless borrowing and reckless spending.

"Akufo-Addo’s reckless borrowing and reckless spending have brought us thus far."

His comments come at the back of the fisticuffs that happened in Parliament last night when the Majority and Minority failed to come to a compromise on the passing of the E-Levy bill.

The stand in deputy speaker, Joseph Owusu after failing to get a vote for the Majority, decided to descend his seat and vote for the bill even though the standing orders of Parliament disapproved such a move.

All hell broke loose and that led to a disruption of parliamentary work. Parliament was adjourned for this morning , the 21st of Dec, 2021.
