On Monday 6th July, the presidential candidate for the National Democratic Party (NDC),John Dramani Mahama selected Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as his running mate for the Dec 7th 2020 election.
Prof. Opoku-Agyeman is a veteran educationist and served as the first female Vice-Chancellor of a public university of Ghana was also the Education Minister under the John Mahama government during his time as president of Ghana.
Her nomination has generated reaction from women all over the country and another women to add her voice is Yvonne Nelson. Dubbed “Yaa Asantewa” of her time, the popular actress has congratulated Prof Jane Agyemang on her nomination and has advised her to put Ghana first in case her party wins the 2020 election.
The actress who is also praing to become the first female president of Ghana tweeted :
“Prof,i love this WOMEN can Deliver and serve your people right. We know its strategic, yeaa, we only need leaders who will put GHANAIANS first, do this and dont be carried away like they all do when they win. All the best”
