The camp of the National Patriotic Party (NPP) were yesterday boosted by an endorsement from two luminaries in the music industry in Ghana.
Legendary dancehall and reggae artist, Samini and BET award winner Sarkodie, pledged their support for the sitting president, Nana Akufo Addo.
While Samini openly endorsed the candidature of Nana Akufo Addo with a campaign song and video, Sarkodie made his in a new song he had with Kuame Eugene, dubbed ‘Happy Day’.
However, their endorsement didn’t come without some revelations and controversies. Member of parliament for Ningo Prampram and a member of the NDC, Hon. Sam George has alleged that , the two musicians endorsement had some monetary influence.
According to the legislator, though he loves the musical prowess of the two musicians, he does not trust their political choices especially they have been paid gh500,000.
“Don’t be swayed by any funny endorsements people. We may love their music and groove to it but we don’t trust their political choices especially when they are worth GH500,000.” the Lawmaker wrote.
