A section of Ghanaians on social media platform Twitter, have roasted Ghanaian celebrities like Nana Aba Anamoah and Yvonne Nelson for their tweets yesterday, calling on President Nana Akufo Addo to make a comments on the current happenings in Nigeria.
A majority of Ghanaians took to social media yesterday to mount pressure on their President, who is also the chairperson of ECOWAS, to pass a statement condemning the maltreatment of Nigerians by the police and military in their country.
According to Nana Aba Anamoah, Akufo Addo being the chairperson of Ecowas, had the responsibility to call on the President of Nigeria to protect the peaceful protestors in his country. Her request was also echoed by movie producer and actress Yvonne Nelson who went further to state that, Akufo Addo will be complicit if he stays silent.
Being forced by the mounting pressure, the president of Ghana release a statement via his twitter account revealing he has had talks with the president of Nigeria and further called on both sides to maintain a peaceful resolution.
Unfortunately for the purveyors of the president’s actions, Nigerians deemed it comically grosteque for a foreign leader to speak to their president whiles the president himself has failed to address his people. Nana Akufo Addo was dragged by Nigerians on social media with some even calling him a mad man. These and many other comments seems to have infuriated some Ghanaians who have taken to twitter to express their grievances with their celebrities especially the award winning journalist.
