Popular Nigerian gospel songwriter and artist, Nathaniel Bassey has advised people to stop comparing gospel musicians in the music industry.
According to the artist who is known famously for songs such as “Imela” and “Onise Iyanu, gospel artistes carry a different mandate which is to join forces together to propagate the work of God and not for competition. He advised people to desist from comparing gospel artistes to ascertain who is the best.
He took to Twitter to get his views heard
” What’s the thing about comparing gospel music ministers? This and that who is better? Please let’s stop this. Our kingdom is different. We don’t compare ourselves with our selves. We compliment each other. We join forces to make our God known and praised. WE DON’T COMPETE! “
The singer who was responding to a comment derived from his earlier statement replied that, as a principle , he does not share competition posters on his page and also turn down invitations to be a judge on award programs
” Same here bro. As a principle, you can find me sharing anything about such competitions on my page. I turn down requests to be a judge on those shows. And also do not display any award on my profiles. We are a different kingdom. God bless you bro. Well said. ” he said.
