It seems the fight against Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) is getting louder by the day as popular Ghanaian actor, Prince David Osei has joined in the call for FDA to rescind its decision to ban celebrities from endorsing alcoholic beverages.
In 2015, the (FDA) banned Ghanaian celebrities from advertising alcoholic beverages.
The FDA said at the time that the ban was not only in adherence to a World Health Organization policy but was part of efforts to protect children and prevent them from being lured into alcoholism.
Their directive, over the years, has come at a cost to the local celebrities with the likes of Wendy Shay, Shatta Wale, Tic and Afia Schwarzenegger calling for it to be rescinded.
The alcoholic companies which have been affected by the directive have gone oversees to endorse foreign celebrities.
Reacting to a post by Afia Schwarzenegger on Instagram, the actor said, the problem with Ghana is we act live we know everything when in fact we know next to nothing.
“The problem with Ghana , we think we know too much and better than others.. Self righteous BS..Very pathetic for our nation”
