Local television channel TV3 has released a statement denying claims that its election projections were intended to favor one political party against the other after a video of its shambolic election projections went viral.
During the 7th December election, the Ghanaian television station projected that the National Patriotic Party (NPP)had won 149 seats in parliament while the opposition National Democratic Congress had garnered 126 seats in the August house.
This projected ended up to be untrue. The NPP, according to the Electoral Commission accrued 137 seats to the NDC 136 seats in parliament.
This projections from TV3 and the actual figures from the EC did not go down well with social media users as many took to platforms like Twitter and Facebook to blast the television network.
But according to TV3, their projections were based on the information available to them at the time.
